Thank you and Ross SO MUCH for your smiles in our hour of adversity! You both were helpful, kept us informed, and lived out patience in front of us. Thank you both for your hard work to make our trip successful!! You practiced an old proverb, patience is the ability to keep your motor idling, when you feel like stripping your gears😀. Thank you again for living out your Christian influence. I enjoyed my trip
Train Across Canada
It was wonderful, Melodi! Everything went smoothly and our guide and driver were great! Thank you so much for your help! Will certainly call you if we ever brave another trip!

New England
Thank you for your help planning and arranging our New England trip! We had a great trip thanks to your help and recommendations.
It’s hard to say what was my favorite part....loved Bar Harbor and Acadia, only disappointment was not seeing any whales on our excursion, but we’ve got 3 years to try it again, at their expense! Guess we’ll have to go back!!
White Mountain and the Cog Railroad were fun too. The Brakeman on the train said we were very lucky, that it was one of the clearest days ever the day we went. Normally it’s very hazy and limited views. We could see all the way to Canada and the ocean from the top!
The B&B near Center Harbor, was quite a historic building. The wood planks on the floor in our bedroom were easily 10” wide, and the host was a gourmet cook! Delicious custom made breakfast....no buffet. And I enjoyed my trip to Keepsake Quilting....Jim was very patient!
The drive to Burlington was probably the nicest for leaf peeping, and once we got there, the surprise of the trip was visiting The Shelburne Museum. That was the recommendation of a friend of mine who lives in Waterbury. What a phenomenal place. We actually spent the entire day there. Our hotel had $3 off coupons, so it was only $16 each. 45 acres of history! If you haven’t visited, I recommend it.
The little town of Lee MA was lovely, we even went to their farmer's market.
Cape Cod was nice, but I think we were tired by the time we got there, so not as exciting. We did visit Hyannis and drove most of the island. Visited Wellfleet on Monday, so I could have some Wellfleet Oysters on the half shell....the did not disappoint! Yum!
I did want to offer a few observations about some of the hotels for you for future travel planning. None of this is a criticism of your planning, after all, I gave you the guidelines and ultimately chose the hotels 🤪. Just more of an FYI. I was surprised by the number of hotels without elevators. The first 2 had them, then none of the others did. Normally not an issue, but we were traveling with 2 large suitcases, and we’re getting old!! A couple of the hotels offered to have someone carry our bags up, some didn’t. Again, not your fault. For future reference, I would not recommend you use Quality Inn. While the rooms were clean, the facilities were a bit run down. Worse in Conway than in Shelburne. At least the staff in Shelburne was cheerful! By the way, the laundromat in Conway you recommended, was perfect, easy to find, clean and well-staffed. We were in and out in about 90 minutes and it was open 24 hours.
The absolute worst hotel was the Extended Stay in Scarborough! No in-room coffee, the “continental breakfast” was instant oatmeal, granola bars and packaged muffins! They didn’t even have “real” cream for the coffee...just the powdered stuff. Someone staying on our floor was cooking the worst smelling food for breakfast, and the entire hallway reeked of it. I couldn’t have gotten out of there soon enough!! Whew!
Again, let me reiterate none of that was your “fault” I just wanted you to be aware in case you make arrangements for someone else in the same towns.
Overall, we had a wonderful trip...although Jim says he will NEVER drive in Boston again 😱. Thanks so much for helping to making our 40th anniversary special.
I hope you’ll work with us again next year when we’re planning a new trip!
